May Mission Month is a special time as we spend time focussing on mission throughout our church. There will be multiple ways that we’ll be focussing on missions including:
On 5 May at our 9am service we will have special guest speaker, Ryan Vallee, from Alpha Australia coming to launch May Mission Month. After the 9am service we will also be having an International Lunch where we encourage everyone able to bring an international plate of food to share.
On 5 May during our night service we will also be launching Alpha at the new time of 5pm. Alpha will also be run in our Life Groups throughout term 2 as a means to help us share our faith with others and prepare for ‘Alpha In The Wild’ in term 3.
Throughout the month we’ll have several guest speakers including Steve Meharg on 19 May at 9am who is the new Director of Mission & Church Planting for Queensland Baptists.
On 19 May we’ll also be hearing from many of the Chaplains who work in our local primary & high schools to kick off Chappy Week.
On 26 May we’ll be having Compassion Sunday and hearing about the work of Compassion around the world. On this day we’ll also have Simon Ward from Compassion coming to share in the 9am service. Following the 9am service there will also be an opportunity to write to your sponsor child or take on a sponsor child yourself.
